How long does the treatment last?

We use the official BOTOX product, which typically lasts between three and four months, though this can vary depending on the individual, the areas treated and how your body metabolises the product. With regular treatment on a consistent schedule, some clients find their results last slightly longer over time.

Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort, and we have a specific method to reduce any pain. The needles used are very fine and the injections are quick. Some areas, such as around the eyes, can be slightly more sensitive than others. Any discomfort is brief and well tolerated by the vast majority of clients. If you're worried about feeling discomfort, you may benefit from using numbing cream 30-60 minutes before treatment.

How long until you see the results?

Results typically begin to appear within three to five days of treatment, with full results visible at around two weeks. If you have a specific event or occasion in mind, we recommend booking at least three weeks in advance to allow your results to fully settle.

Are there any side effects?

BOTOX is a well-established and clinically proven treatment with a strong safety record when administered by a qualified practitioner. Some clients experience mild redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves within a few hours to a couple of days. Headaches can occasionally occur following treatment. Serious side effects are rare. If you experience any unusual symptoms following your appointment, consult your GP immediately.

Who is not suitable for anti-wrinkle injections?

It is not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with certain neuromuscular conditions, or those with known allergies to botulinum toxin or any of its ingredients. A full medical history and consultation is carried out before every consultation to assess suitability before any treatment is administered. If you have any concerns about your suitability, consult your GP before booking.

What areas do you treat?

At Rhona's we treat three of the most commonly requested areas: forehead lines, frown lines (glabella) and crow's feet. These can be booked individually or in combination. Please get in touch if you have a question about a specific area not listed here.

How often should I have treatment?

We use the official BOTOX product, which typically lasts three to four months, so most clients have treatment approximately three times per year to maintain consistent results. Leaving significantly longer between appointments can allow lines to become more established over time. Our annual package is designed around this recommended cadence, making it easy to stay on schedule.

Is there any downtime?

There is no significant downtime following anti-wrinkle injection treatment and most clients return to their normal daily activities straight away. However, to get the best possible results and minimise any risk of complications, we recommend following some simple guidelines in the 24 hours after your appointment. Remain upright for at least four hours, avoid touching or massaging the treated areas, avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol, avoid exposure to excessive heat including saunas, sunbeds and very hot baths, and avoid applying makeup directly to injection sites. Full written aftercare instructions will be provided following every appointment. If you have any concerns in the days after your treatment, we are always available to help.

How much do your anti-wrinkle treatments cost?

The cost of varies depending on the product used, number of areas being treated and the provider you choose. At Rhona's, pricing is straightforward with no hidden fees and we only use official BOTOX. One area is £200, two areas are £250 and three areas are £300. All appointments include a full consultation and travel to you at no extra charge. There are no additional fees for male clients and no separate consultation fee. Some providers charge separately for consultations or apply surcharges for male treatments, so it is always worth checking what is included before booking.

How long after treatment can you exercise?

It is generally recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours following BOTOX treatment. Intense physical activity increases blood flow and can cause the product to migrate from the treatment area before it has fully settled. Light activity is generally fine but we advise erring on the side of caution in the hours immediately following your appointment. Always follow the aftercare guidance provided at your appointment.

What shouldn't you do after your injections?

In the 24 hours following your treatment, it is recommended that you avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, touching or massaging the treated areas, applying makeup directly to injection sites, exposure to excessive heat including saunas, sunbeds and very hot baths, and consuming alcohol. Following these guidelines helps ensure the best possible results and reduces the risk of complications. Full written aftercare instructions will be provided following every appointment.

How long after BOTOX can you lay down?

It is generally advised to remain upright for at least four hours following BOTOX treatment. Lying down too soon after your appointment may cause the product to migrate away from the intended treatment area. We recommend scheduling your appointment at a time when you are able to remain upright and go about your normal activities for the rest of the day. Always follow the specific aftercare advice provided at your appointment.

Can you drink alcohol after BOTOX?

It is advisable to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after BOTOX treatment. Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising at the injection site and may affect how your body responds to treatment. While an occasional drink is unlikely to cause serious issues, we recommend following this guidance to give your results the best possible start. If you have any specific concerns, consult your GP for advice tailored to your individual circumstances.

What product do you use?

All treatments at Rhona's are administered using genuine BOTOX, the clinically proven botulinum toxin product manufactured by Allergan. We do not use alternative or unbranded botulinum toxin products. Our service is designed to be premium and make use of the best product on the market.

Is travel included in the price?

Yes. Travel to your home is included in the price of every appointment at no additional charge. There are no hidden fees or surcharges. For clients outside of our standard service area of Poole and Bournemouth, a travel surcharge may apply. Please get in touch to confirm availability in your area.

How do I book?

What happens at my consultation?

Your consultation takes place before any treatment. We will confirm your medical history, discuss your goals and expectations, assess your suitability for treatment and answer any questions you have before anything is administered.

How long does an appointment take?

Home consultations typically take around 10 - 15 minutes, and the appointment itself between 20 - 30 minutes.
